My Philosophy and Approach to Counseling
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, it is my desire to help my clients learn healthier coping and communication skills, I will strive to help my clients gain a better understanding of themselves, their problematic and possibly self destructive patterns, how to view situations in a different, more effective way and how to make positive changes in their lives and relationships. Depending on the needs of my clients, I practice a variety of therapeutic orientations which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
About Me
I hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from National University in Fresno, California and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno. I was trained in Functional Family Therapy, an evidence based program designed to help high risk teens and their families. I also have extensive experience working with youth in the foster care and Juvenile Justice systems.Professional Disclosure Statement
